The Cross and The Switchblade stage pics

I was able to sit front row and take pictures of the play on it's final weekend.  I was surprised at how many good shots I got in such low light and with so much movement.  I rarely ever use a flash anyway but with this I didn't use flash at all.

you can see all the pictures from that night on my facebook page.

Galvan Kids

On Wed I was able to go to Murray park with my friend Christina and take some pictures of her kids.  I was looking forward to it as a learning experience working with more than one kid.  It was definitely just that.  The two older kids were fine with the posing and the youngest is so small she just gets held, but her 1 year old is very active and didn't want anything to do with sitting still.  After a few failed attempts we realized that it just wasn't going to happen so we let the kids head over to the slides and let them play on the playground while I snapped some active shots.

and this was a little girl that was playing on the playground too, she was so cute I just couldn't resist taking a picture of her too.

More of these shots can be found on the Galvan kids shutterfly page

Jeff and Carly

I absolutely loved taking these pictures.  The day was beautiful, but not too hot at all.  I learned though that after about 3 hours of pictures, everyone is done.  We went to 3 different locations and Carly and Jeff wore a different outfit at each place, it was so cute.  This is only some of my favorites but if you want to see all of them please go to Jeff and Carly's shutterfly page

The Cross and The Switchblade

Steve has been blessed to have a part in the play at Calvary right now and being as that we are friends with the Director, I was able to take backstage pictures.  Next week I'll be taking pictures of the play itself so stay tuned for that.
So the biggest struggle with these pictures was the lighting.  I try not to use flash whenever possible since people tend to get frustrated with a flash going all the time.  The main room that I took most of the pictures in has terrible lighting.  Very dim and mostly it's lit with Christmas lights.  I got a few good shots but they just don't look as good as they could because of the lack of light.
